Multi-Mission Tools

These Web-based tools are designed to assist scientists in their proposal and general data analysis efforts. The HEASARC provides these tools as a service to the scientific community.   • Hera – Astronomical data analysis over the Internet
  • RPS – Remote Proposal System
  • Date/Time Converter (xTime) – Convert Fermi, RXTE, Suzaku, Swift, and XMM-Newton times to other time systems and formats, and vice versa
  • SkyView – The Internet's Virtual Telescope
  • Timeline Tool – Swift, RXTE and HETE-2 observation (as-flown) timelines
  • Viewing – Determine possible viewing times for missions and objects
  • WebPIMMS – Determine source flux or count rates
  • WebSpec – Simulate spectral data for missions/instruments

  • xTime tool enhanced (01 Apr 2020)
    Support for INTEGRAL Julian Dates has been added. Also, xTime will now calculate time intervals (in days/hours/minutes/seconds, fractional days, and total seconds) between successive date/time conversions.
  • Viewing tool updated (20 Mar 2020)
    The Swift pole constraints have been updated in the Viewing tool. The revised coefficients extrapolate the trend for the next year.
  • Viewing tool updated (02 Dec 2019)
    Support for the upcoming IXPE mission has been added to Viewing.
  • Viewing tool updated (11 Jul 2019)

  • nH tool updated (16 May 2019)
    The nH tool has been updated with support for the HI4PI survey map. This new map is now the default. The X-Ray Background Tool has also been updated to use the HI4PI map.
